Intro

Hi there! My name is Atul Parida and I'm an AI Software Developer based in Singapore and New Jersey. With a user-focused creative mindset and a passion for learning, innovation, and development, I love creating solutions that make people's lives easier. Currently, I'm studying as a junior at the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD).

The fields in which I have had experience in include:

  • Mobile app development in both iOS and Android.

    Web Development

    Over the years I have gained mastery in web development, primarily focusing on JavaScript-based frameworks like React and Vue.js. I have also worked with PHP and Flask in some projects.

    Backend Development

    My experience in backend development has mostly involved SQL-based databases and NoSQL Firebase implementations.

    Mobile App Development

    Most of my mobile app development experience has been in iOS, but I have also worked with Android and cross-platform tools like Xamarin and Flutter.

    Design

    I primarily use Figma for my app development and design work.

    Machine Learning, Analytics and AI

    Through university courses and online self-learning platforms, I have gained experience in machine learning and data analytics using Python and R. TensorFlow and PyTorch are the main libraries I have worked with.

    Others

    My guiding principles whenever I work are quality, consistency, and efficiency - the factors I believe make a good developer along with teamwork and communication.

    I'm always looking to improve my skills and learn new things, and I'm always open to new opportunities.

    Projects

    • Plane Spotting Telegram Bot

      Using Python, Tensorflow and Keras, I developed a Telegram bot that allows users to identify aircraft based on images they send. The bot uses a pre-trained model to classify the aircraft and provide information about it. The bot has been hosted on PythonAnywhere and is available for use.

    • Emergen AI

      Using Python, Streamlit and the OpenAI API, my 3-member team developed a website for the Temasek x SUTD GenAI Hackathon 2024 that allows business owners to identify the business potential of a technological domain based on research articles and business articles they provide. The bot uses the Azure OpenAI API to classify the articles and provide insights into the future outlook of the domain being explored, as well as answer questions through a chatbot. Our team won commendations for our efforts during the 5-day Hackathon experience.

    • Generative AI Trip Planner

      Using TypeScript and React, my team of 4 members developed a website that allows users to plan trips based on their preferences and generate a trip itinerary. This submission was made for the Singapore Airlines AppChallenge 2023 hackathon. The website uses a generative AI model to suggest activities and locations based on user preferences and constraints. The website also features a chatbot that can answer questions and provide suggestions based on user input.

    • Spacemate

      Spacemate is a space-management system that I developed with a team of 5 members using Android Studio and Firebase for our 50.001 Information Systems & Programming course. It allows students to book rooms and facilities throughout the campus, helping everyone find study locations more efficiently.

    • Flask-Based Mathematics Website

      Using Flask, Python and Transcrypt, my team of two members developed a mathematics quiz website as part of our 10.020 Data Driven World course. It allows students to log in and access mathematics questions posed to them by other students & faculty. The website also features a leaderboard and an admin panel for faculty to manage the questions.

    • Python-Based Quiz Game

      Using Python, my five-member team developed a quiz game as part of our 10.014 Computational Thinking & Design course. Our restriction was to develop it purely in Python, without any GUI libraries. The game features a leaderboard and a variety of questions, and is played in a rudimentary interface, with bosses, multipliers and more.

    • Single-Frame Chatbot App

      Using Swift, my team of 2 members developed a single-frame chatbot template for the DaVinci@SUTD STEAMxD 2023 workshop series, intended to teach Singaporean JC and Polytechnic students basic mobile app development. The chatbot is able to answer based on a list of responses in a text-bubble format. Additional functionalities such as API calls to OpenAI GPT-3 and button layouts are also provided for students to explore.

    About

    I got introduced to coding at an early age through JavaScript, and have since then become proficient in more OOP-based languages like Java, Python and Swift. By the way, check out my awesome work.

    I'm currently working on projects involving generative AI and deep learning frameworks, while also building on my software engineering knowledge.
